I've seen/bought this cheap on ebay, is it real?
No, the cheap ones you see on ebay are fake or chinese copies and if you've bought one, you should complain to ebay and try to get your money back. Under no circumstances should you plug it into your car, or run the software they supplied as there's a high chance that when you buy fake or stolen software, you'll also get malware and a virus or two along for the ride
